Darren Minke, Creative Director

Darren’s love for artwork began at an early age when he started sketching the various bugs and animals he would drag into the house… much to his mother’s dismay.  He soon progressed to painting scantily clad women, which put her mind at ease.

Somewhere along the line, he was brainwashed into believing that being a doctor was a good idea; perhaps it was his mom’s revenge.  After doing four years hard time at the maximum security correctional facility known as Texas A&M, he managed to receive degrees in Biology and Psychology with a minor in dealing with institutional bureaucratic BS.  He was then wooed by the prospects of a life of ease and plenty promised by enrolling at Penn State Medical school, which he promptly declined for the much more interesting offer of being a starving artist. In 2006, after years of planning, John Bush manifested his dream company, Adbongo, Inc. Since that time, he has steered the evolution and expansion of the ship from its beginnings as a boutique advertising firm to its current incarnation as a clean business accelerator with specialization in ecosystem design.

John weds the best of seemingly disparate worlds: the hard-core discipline of military life with the creative skills and passion of an artist.  Leading up to his creation of Adbongo, Mr. Bush gained his “captain” skills through his five successful years in the U.S. Marines where he served as First Team Leader in the Middle East, finishing his service at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Since he was a young child, John has nurtured multiple modalities of artistic expression. Painting is still his favorite today. The artist in John keeps Adbongo moving forward, beyond the cutting edge, while the military leader in him focuses on the structure necessary to keep such an ambitious operation from flying off the train tracks.
