Last week, the Adbongo collective of consultants met to refine our communication of what it is that we do. Adbongo’s been in business for years now, but our mission has evolved over time. So what is it we’re up to these days?
drum roll please…
“For cause related companies with an environmental and socially responsible vision, Adbongo is the business incubator that is invested in your success.”
Cause Business Incubator - That sums it up quite nicely.
As we hashed out our mission, vision and positioning statements, I looked around the room and thought, “Wow, what a great team.” Each of these consultants are well-seasoned; they are a vast wealth of wisdom, experience and know-how. They came in on their own time to attend this meeting. Why would they do such a thing? In this moment of gratitude for all those seated around me, I paused to calculate just how much this meeting would have cost if we were paying each consultant their full salary or hourly fee.
$10,000. This meeting would have cost Adbongo $10,000 if these team players hadn’t have volunteered their time.
So why? I asked why they were willing to contribute so much to Adbongo. The reasons were all pretty close to the same: they are passionate about helping those cause-related businesses that are helping the planet and its people. I think that kind of dedication and passion is amazing, and it benefits Adbongo clients big-time.
Instead of paying $10,000 for a couple of hours of time from each of these consultants (lawyer, marketing and advertising specialists, environmental strategists, graphic designers, visual artists, communications ninjas, animators, radio and TV studio owners & operators, plus a few more), our clients pay a minuscule fraction of this cost (In fact, we have a retainer package that puts this think tank to work for a full month for a mere $3000). Because these consultants truly believe in our cause incubator model and because they want to do good things for this world, they are willing to help our clients out at reduced “good cause” rates.
I am beyond excited about the possibilities… so much so, that I lost track of time. Must catch plane to plan our Earthship with Michael Reynolds now!
